Catherine Bahr

Director of Communications

As Director of Communications at New Capital, Catherine oversees all aspects of communication directed towards the firm's clients, prospective clients, and the public. Catherine manages various channels such as the New Capital Journal, the company website, webinars, the Annual Conference, and an assortment of other events and client services.

Catherine's responsibilities expanded in 2020 when she took on the additional duties of project management and the continual development and enhancement of NCM360, New Capital’s proprietary client information system. Over the past four years, Catherine has developed a solid understanding and technical proficiency in application design, data management and automation. She also regularly collaborates with an expert third-party developer to ensure the highest level of technical development and security. Catherine actively engages in training sessions to familiarize clients with the functionality of the NCM360 platform, facilitating a smooth transition and optimal utilization of its features.

Catherine graduated with a BA in Mass Communication-Advertising from Texas State University in 2004. After earning her degree, she gained over a decade of experience in communications, marketing, and graphic design before starting at New Capital in 2012. 

Catherine is a native Houstonian who grew up in West University and attended Lamar High School. She currently resides in Sienna with her husband, Brandon, and their son, Griffin. She enjoys various hobbies such as photography, gardening, interior design, furniture refurbishing, and crafting projects. She is also an outdoors enthusiast, taking pleasure in activities like walking, biking, boating, fishing and camping. 

Catherine has a passion for travel, and some of the notable destinations she has visited include Iceland, Thailand, Italy, and France. She also has a bucket list of travel destinations that includes places like Peru, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Spain, and more. 

Starting in 2023, Catherine has been actively involved as a donor and volunteer for the Houston Area Women’s Center, where she supports women and children who are victims of domestic violence.
