We would like to formally introduce you to Egan O’Keefe, and welcome her to the team as New Capital’s Administrative Assistant.

Egan first came to New Capital as a freelancer in May 2019. She began by working part-time on the New Capital Journal, social media posts, analytics reporting, and many other administrative tasks.

Egan holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Missouri, Columbia. Her work history includes several administrative and communication positions, and in creative fields including photography, acting, and writing.

Egan currently resides in St. Louis, her hometown. Her hobbies include freelance writing and photography work.

While Egan is looking forward to working with each of you, we’ve asked her to answer a few questions so you can get to know her better.

1. What is your favorite movie?

My favorite movie is the 1985 film Creator. Peter O’Toole. Mariel Hemingway. Vincent Spano. Not many people know it. And I understand it has miserable reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, but I still love it. Regardless, both it and its book, are not well known.

It’s a small, charming, hopeful, funny, and heartbreaking film. And, I love its musical theme. It’s beautiful and haunting. I would have it as my ringtone if I could.

2. What is your favorite book?

“The Boys in the Boat” by Daniel James Brown. In 1936 a rowing team of college kids raced to a gold medal. Their win was an upset, and clearly good news back home. The book goes into the formation of the team, and even the backstory of some of the boys. Which sounds sort of dry, but is so engaging.

I read the last few chapters on an airplane. I was so involved with the story, I let the entire plane get off before me. I literally did not want to put it down.

3. Would you rather vacation in Hawaii or Alaska, and why?

Hawaii, for two reasons. I am really not a cold weather person, and I love the ocean. Hawaii, please.

As you begin hearing from Egan in the coming months for meeting scheduling and other administrative and client services tasks, please join us in welcoming her to the New Capital team.
