On Monday, January 17th, the United States recognized and celebrated Martin Luther King, Jr., Day. This holiday calls on us to remember and honor the achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the civil rights leader and activist who advocated for nonviolent resistance against racial segregation. Dr. King made it his life’s mission to bring compassion, fairness and racial equality to all. In celebration of his legacy, New Capital made a donation to the Texas Civil Rights Project.
The Texas Civil Rights Project, based in Austin, is a group of lawyers and advocates who serve communities throughout Texas, furthering the movement for equality and justice in and out of the courts. TCRP believes that legal advocacy and litigation are critical tools to protect and advance the civil rights of everyone in Texas, particularly the State’s most vulnerable populations, and to effect positive and lasting change to law and policy. By serving the rising social justice movement in Texas with excellent legal representation and bold strategies, they can respond to the needs of the communities they serve.
