The sharp change of events has threatened to leave millions of Ukrainians displaced, fleeing the country, triggering a potential large-scale humanitarian crisis.

In response to the unfolding crisis in Ukraine, Direct Relief has extended offers of humanitarian support to several healthcare organizations in the country. Among the items available in Direct Relief’s inventory are IV fluids, antibiotics, medications for anesthesia, sutures, and cardiovascular drugs, among others. Since January 2021, Direct Relief has supplied Ukrainian healthcare providers with more than $27 million in medical aid.

With some 3 million people in Ukraine already in need of urgent humanitarian assistance, immediate medical support is needed to prevent the country from spiraling even deeper into a humanitarian crisis that could impact millions of people. Project HOPE is mobilizing a response with partners to address urgent health care needs, shipping essential medicines and medical supplies to affected areas.

At least 7.5 million children in Ukraine are in grave danger of physical harm, severe emotional distress and displacement following an escalation in hostilities. Save the Children delivers lifesaving aid to vulnerable children in Ukraine and around the world.
World Help
The streets of Ukraine’s capital and other major cities are clogged as thousands of people run for their lives. These displaced families will need food, water, and other basic necessities to survive. World Help is working with national Ukrainian partners who are ready to respond to this tremendous need.

CRS and Caritas partners on the ground are preparing across Ukraine and in bordering countries, ready to provide safe shelter, hot meals, hygiene supplies, fuel to keep warm, transport to safe areas, counseling support and more.
