Introducing Deysi Davila

We are delighted to introduce Deysi Davila as New Capital Management’s summer intern. Deysi began working with us in June and over the past month, she has gained exposure to various aspects of our services, including administration, communications, financial planning, and investment management.

Deysi graduated from the University of Houston in May 2024 with a B.B.A in Finance and Marketing, complemented by a minor in Studio Arts. During her time at the university, she had a transformative experience studying abroad in Spain, fostering a deep appreciation for travel and cultural exploration.

Originally from Houston, Deysi grew up alongside her eight older siblings, which instilled in her a strong work ethic and determination. She is eager to apply her academic achievements and creativity to a career in finance, with aspirations to pursue her CFP® certification to further excel in the field.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Deysi finds joy in art, particularly drawing and ceramics. She is an enthusiastic reader, always seeking to expand her knowledge and skills through her passion for both art and literature.

Here are a few fun Q&A’s for you to get to know Deysi:

  1. How do you spend your free time?

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Most of the time I babysit my nephews and nieces.”

  2. Do you have a favorite book?

My all time favorite book is A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. This book opened me up to the beauty of friendship and overall relationships.

  3. What are your hobbies and how did you get into them?

One of my hobbies is drawing portraits and abstract pieces. Another hobby of mine is embroidery. I got into both since I took inspiration from my mom’s art work and fell in love with these two hobbies.

  4. If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be and why?

I would visit Florence, Italy, because I want to visit all the art museums and get to experience the Uffizi Galleries.

  5. Who do you look up to, and why?

I look up to my father the most. He taught me the value of being kind and loving even when life is tough.

Please join us in welcoming Deysi Davila to our team. We look forward to her contributions and growth.
